From the Editor’ s Desk

Dear friends of AcreageLife,
May brings the shift from spring to summer; longer days, warmer weather and gardens beginning to take shape. It’ s a busy and rewarding time on your land, but it’ s also a good moment to check in with yourself and your family.
This month highlights both Mental Health Awareness and Melanoma and Skin Cancer Awareness. Rural living offers independence and space, but it can also come with unique challenges. Access to care can be limited, and it’ s not always easy to reach out, but staying connected matters. If you or someone you know needs support, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline is available by call or text, offering free and confidential help.
Spending so much time outdoors also means taking extra care in the sun. Limiting peak exposure, wearing protective clothing and using SPF 30 or higher can go a long way in protecting your health. The American Cancer Society website offers additional sun protection advice.
As you settle into the rhythm of early summer, take time to enjoy it, whether that’ s starting a new project, tending your land or simply appreciating the lifestyle you’ ve built. Spread the joy of the lifestyle we all love and cultivate.
