Homemade Dog Treat Recipe Ingredients
2 cups of flour( whole wheat or coconut flour works great)
1 cup of peanut butter or plain pumpkin puree 1 egg 1 cup of water 2 tablespoons honey
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. 2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
3. In a large bowl, combine the flour and egg until it is well blended. Add the peanut butter or plain pumpkin puree, water and honey. Stir until the dough is stiff. Add more flour as needed.
4. On a floured surface( such as a countertop, table or chopping board), roll out the dough to about ½- to ¾-inch thick. Use a cookie cutter to cut out small cookie shapes.
5. Place cookies on the lined baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden. 6. Let cool. Drizzle with honey( optional).
Yields about 24 small dog treats. To store, put the dog treats in an airtight container in the refrigerator, or you can store them in a gallon freezer bag in the freezer. These treats last up to two months in the refrigerator or up to six months in the freezer.
