Compact Power for Your Property
Kubota’ s Latest Tractor Offers Versatility and Comfort
By Maggie MacHale
For acreage owners looking for one machine that can handle a wide range of property tasks, compact utility tractors continue to play a key role. That focus on versatility was on display at Kubota Connect 2025, held September 29-30 in Grapevine, Texas, where more than 1,000 Kubota dealers gathered for a products and solutions hub, general session and hands-on ride-and-drive experience.
The event also spotlighted Kubota’ s newest Grand L70 compact utility tractor series, giving attendees an up-close look at how the tractors combine a compact footprint with adaptable performance, improved comfort and better visibility. Developed with feedback from operators and dealers, the Grand L70 is designed to meet common challenges faced by users while remaining easy to use, reliable and compatible with a range of attachments.
For many acreage owners, that kind of flexibility is exactly what they look for in a compact tractor.
“ You want to move materials,” said Paul Manger, executive director of product marketing at Kubota.“ You ' ve got to cut, you ' ve got to mow. So you ' re going to want to have a tractor. You ' re going to want to pull a rotary cutter behind you. Maybe you ' re going to clear some land, and you ' re going to move some limbs and some trees, and you ' re going to want a grapple or a bucket and you ' re going to move dirt. You ' ll put a garden in, have a tiller, pull a tiller behind the tractor. There are so many different things that make a utility tractor handy for folks that have acreage and are enjoying that kind of lifestyle.”
Designed Around Users
The Grand L series has evolved steadily since 1994, with the Grand L70 continuing that tradition. It brings updates in comfort, technology and usability while keeping the performance acreage owners rely on.
“ The way that you build quality and reliability is you continue to reap and improve as you go along,” added Manger.“ Many of the basic parts of the tractor are just further evolving. They ' re very similar, but they ' re a little bit tweaked here and there to make them a little bit better, a little bit more reliable. Even though we have a lot of massive changes, many of the features are consistent.”
Kubota focused on making the operator experience easier and more comfortable, keeping the engine and transmission familiar while adding practical updates. The Grand L70 lineup includes four models: 3770 Deluxe at 37 horsepower, 4270 Deluxe at 42 horsepower, 3970 Premium at 44 horsepower and 60 Premium at 60 horsepower. The series is available in two trims, Deluxe and Premium, and hydrostatic transmissions are standard.
Comfort for Long Workdays
One of the most noticeable upgrades is the redesigned four-post cab. Removing the middle posts reduces blind spots and creates a wide, clear view when using the loader. The cab also features more glass, curved rear windows, a flat floor, repositioned controls and air ride seats for added comfort.
“ That was the first thing that I recognized,” said Bobby Cummings, product marketing director for compact utility tractors at Kubota.“ I said,‘ Wow, that ' s a new cab.’ I immediately recognized it.”
For those in colder climates, a cold-weather package adds heated glass, LED lights and remote start. A recirculation valve improves air circulation by 36 %, enhancing temperature control and reducing dust, especially useful in cold or dusty conditions.
The cab also features new storage options, including a phone holder, cup holder and side file pocket, along with a color K Command display, soft-touch buttons, jog dial and Bluetooth connectivity for modern convenience.
